Brussels, 29 June 2022 (TDI): Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Belgium, presented his credentials to Philippe Leopold Louis Marie, the King of the Belgians.
The ceremony was held at the Royal Palace of Brussels. During the ceremony, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings as well as best wishes of the President and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the King of Belgium.

In addition, the Ambassador communicated his determination to work hard for creating stronger, vibrant, and diverse collaboration between Pakistan and Belgium.
Along these lines, the Ambassador reaffirmed the importance Pakistan attached to its cordial ties with Belgium. The King of Belgium on his part reciprocated the amiable greetings.

Moreover, King Philippe Leopold Louis Marie extended his best wishes for the welfare and prosperity of the Pakistani people.
Belgium–Pakistan Relations
Pakistan and Belgium enjoy cordial and mutually beneficial bilateral ties relations. Belgium maintains an Embassy in Islamabad while Pakistan has an Embassy in Brussels.
In the economic field, Belgium has the status of being the sixth-largest European importer of Pakistani goods. Bilateral trade between the two is approximately US $600 million.
Belgium also provided aid worth €4.6 million to Pakistan during the 2010 floods. Furthermore, a large number of Pakistanis also reside in Belgium.

Besides, Pakistan’s diplomatic post in Belgium is crucial as Brussels is also the headquarters of the European Union and NATO, among many other international organizations.
The two countries have also had high-level visits during the duration of the relations.
Pakistan’s former President, Pervez Musharraf, also visited Belgium during his tour of Europe in early 2008.
