Washington, 4 September 2024 (TDI): Pakistan’s newly appointed Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, initiated his outreach to American lawmakers with a telephonic discussion with Congressman Tom Suozzi, a prominent member of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus.
The conversation on Tuesday focused on enhancing Pakistan-US relations and further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Congressman Suozzi congratulated ambassador Sheikh on his new role, while the envoy highlighted the importance of the partnership between Pakistan and the United States for both nations and the broader region.
Ambassador Sheikh emphasized the “positive trajectory” of the bilateral relationship, expressing Pakistan’s determination to leverage the goodwill and friendship between the two countries to deepen ties, particularly in the economic sphere.
The envoy also expressed gratitude to Congressman Suozzi for his message of goodwill on Pakistan’s Independence Day.

Congressman Suozzi, in turn, acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani-American community in strengthening ties between the two nations.
