Rawalpindi, 1 July 2022 (TDI): Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, called on Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa made an official two-day visit to Qatar. During the visit, Army Chief witnessed a passing out parade at Ahmad bin Muhammad Military College.

Later he called on Emir Sheikh Tamim. Whereas Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Al Attiyah, Deputy PM and Minister of State for Defense Affairs of State of Qatar was also present.

Officials also discussed the matters of mutual interest, defense and security cooperation, and the regional geopolitical environment.

General Bajwa mentioned that both countries share a great history of cordial relations and a deep spirit of brotherhood. He said that our bilateral relations are being transformed into an enduring partnership.

Both sides stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in all fields. Dignitaries also appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts for peace and stability in the region.

Furthermore, they reiterated that both countries share a good relation of ‘strategic value’. They pledged to keep working for better relations between both brotherly countries.

Pakistan-Qatar ties

Both countries share a strong and deep-rooted relationship in various fields. Both countries have made a large number of visits to the highest levels. In addition to that various agreements have been signed in the fields of politics, economics, education, trade, investment, culture, and defense.

Earlier this month, the Commander Qatar Emiri Air Force Major General Jassim Muhammad Ahmad Al-Mannai called COAS General Bajwa.

Both officials discussed matters of mutual and professional interest and looked upon the security situation of the region.

Moreover, General Bajwa highlighted that Pakistan values its brotherly relations with Qatar. Pakistan Army looks forward to enhancing defense and security cooperation with Qatar

Commander Qatar Emiri Airforce also acknowledged the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and vowed to enhance cooperation with Pakistan in various fields.

Recently, the Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Faisal Al-Thani received the Global Ambassador Award at an Award Ceremony organized by the Diplomatic Insight group.
