Dushanbe, 17 June 2023 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Saeed Sarwar, met with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin. The meeting focused on further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
During their comprehensive meeting, Ambassador Sarwar reaffirmed the close fraternal ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan rooted in shared history and cultural linkages.
The representatives of both states focused on discussing bilateral issues to pave the way for enhanced collaboration between them. Moreover, they had productive discussions on various aspects of bilateral relations.
This was Ambassador Sarwar’s first meeting with Foreign Minister Muhriddin since taking charge in Tajikistan earlier this year. He has renewed Pakistan’s commitment to achieving new peaks in its growing partnership with Tajikistan.
Congratulating Ambassador Sarwar on his recent appointment to Tajikistan, the Foreign Minister expressed good wishes for his success in strengthening bilateral ties.

Pakistan-Tajikistan bilateral relations
Pakistan and Tajikistan share bilateral terms in key sectors, including trade and investment, energy, security, culture, education, and people-to-people contacts.
The two sides are enhancing mutual cooperation through joint efforts by exchanging visits of high officials and engaging in several agreements.
Moreover, the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation between the two sides has effectively improved the economic ties between them.
Importantly, this high-level meeting highlights both nations’ priority on cultivating historic bilateral ties established in 1992.
Their profound bonds create immense potential for partnerships across trade, security, energy, education and culture.
Building on this foundation, Pakistan and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to boosting relations especially on the economic front, as highlighted in recent discussions between Minister Khar and Foreign Minister Muhriddin.
Their exchange underscores a shared resolve to deepen practical cooperation for mutual benefit.
