Beijing, 21 November 2021 (TDI): Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque met with the External Security Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping.
The two dignitaries extensively discussed the bilateral relations of the two states. They discussed further ways to strengthen cooperation in security, economy, and cultural relations. They debated on regional and international issues especially counter-terrorism.
Cheng Guoping stated that China and Pakistan are all-weather friends. The two countries have supported each other in the hard times, he added. He stressed that Pakistan has been the top priority of China in formulating its foreign policy. Therefore, China would continue to help Pakistan in its development and prosperity.
CPEC has strengthened bilateral relations
He also emphasized the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He stated that it has helped a lot in the progress and development of Pakistan. CPEC would continue to provide benefits to the people of the two countries, he added. He said that CPEC has helped a lot in strengthening the bilateral relations of the two states.
The Chinese official stressed that the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two sides provide a chance to further strengthen the iron-clad traditional friendship. He said China is committed to establishing a shared community of China-Pakistan based on shared values with a shared future.
Pakistani Ambassador Moin ul Haque admired the efforts of Cheng Guoping in strengthening the China-Pakistan friendship. He said that the establishment of sister city and sister province relations between the two countries will help further to strengthen bilateral relations. He stressed that it would also help to search for new channels for strengthening the cooperation between the sides.
Pakistani Ambassador congratulated China on holding the Sixth Plenary session of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee. He stated that the Pakistan-China friendship is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. He said Pakistan will further strengthen strategic coordination with China.
The two sides also discussed regional and international developments. They also debated on the recent developments in Afghanistan. They agreed to strengthen coordination on the Afghanistan issue to ensure regional stability. Pakistan looks forward to expanding its cooperation with China to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two states.
