ISLAMABAD (TDI): Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in the latest United Nations (UN) e-governance rankings, climbing 14 positions to secure the 136th spot in the E-Government Development Index (EGDI).
This marks a substantial improvement from its previous ranking of 150 in 2022 and is the first time the country has been included in the top tier of the EGDI.

Additionally, Pakistan has made strides in the E-Participation Index, advancing to 88th place, up from 106th just two years ago.

The country’s e-participation value has increased from 0.36 to 0.49, reflecting enhanced citizen engagement.
Minister of State Shaza Fatima praised the efforts of Prime Minister and the Ministry of IT, acknowledging their vital role in strengthening e-government infrastructure.
She emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing public services and boosting citizen involvement through technology.

Pakistan’s improvement in both the EGDI and E-Participation Index signals a transformation in how government services are delivered, she said.
Fatima said that the country’s focus on enhancing digital accessibility, transparency, and citizen participation in governance.
