Ambassador highlighted Sweden’s approach to climate action, noting that Sweden views climate engagement not only from a development perspective but also through active private sector participation. In this context, she informed the Minister that Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), a Swedish financial institution already engaged in green lending, is exploring the possibility of establishing a multi-country fund in Pakistan focused on water, infrastructure, and energy projects.

She explained that the initiative aims to help local companies reduce risks associated with climate-related investments and support sustainable development initiatives. The proposed fund is expected to collaborate with the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to mobilize climate finance. The Ambassador requested the Ministry’s support and coordination in this regard in its capacity as Pakistan’s National Designated Authority for the GCF.
