Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan on Sunday issued a sharp rebuke to Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for his recent comments about Sindh, describing the remarks as irresponsible, provocative and rooted in a “revisionist fantasy” that threatens regional peace.
Singh, speaking at an event in India, was quoted by local media as claiming that Sindh, which became part of Pakistan at independence, could someday “return” to India. He reportedly said that while the province may no longer fall within India’s borders, it remained connected to the country on a “civilizational” basis, and that borders “can change”.
He further claimed that many Sindhi Hindus of his generation had never reconciled with the province joining Pakistan in 1947.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office dismissed the statements as evidence of an “expansionist Hindutva worldview”, saying they ran counter to international norms, challenged established frontiers and violated the sovereignty of independent states.

The FO urged India’s political leadership to refrain from incendiary rhetoric and instead confront its own internal security concerns, particularly the rising violence and discrimination faced by minority communities across the country.
The statement also drew attention to long-standing grievances in India’s northeast, where various communities have accused the state of marginalization, identity-based repression and recurring violence allegedly enabled by official policies.

Reiterating its position on the Kashmir dispute, Pakistan called on New Delhi to take meaningful and verifiable steps towards settling the issue in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
The FO emphasized that while Pakistan remains committed to resolving disputes through peaceful and lawful means, it will continue to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.
