Islamabad (TDI): Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dan Stoenescu called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the Parliament House on Monday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation, and the evolving regional situation.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan places high importance to its longstanding and friendly relations with Romania, which are based on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests.
He said that vibrant parliamentary cooperation would further strengthen bilateral collaboration.

Sadiq further stated that the Pakistan-Romania Friendship Group in the National Assembly has played a very important role in promoting substantive and enduring parliamentary engagement between the two parliaments.
He emphasized the need for expanding collaboration in major sectors, including education, trade, industry, and information technology.
He added that Pakistan is actively seeking global partnerships in these areas and views Romania as a valuable partner.
Ambassador Stoenescu commended the Speaker’s views and acknowledged Islamabad’s efforts to deepen bilateral relations.
He said Romania attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan and is keen to further enhance cooperation in the parliamentary, academic, and economic sectors.

He appreciated Pakistan’s progress in the IT sector and highlighted the significance of fostering direct institutional linkages between the two parliaments, stating such efforts would not only reinforce bilateral ties but also strengthen democratic norms across the region.
The envoy also noted that Pakistan’s parliamentary diplomacy continues to play a constructive role in promoting regional peace and development.
He expressed Romania’s willingness to benefit from Pakistan’s experience and explore avenues for mutual collaboration.
It was agreed that parliamentary exchanges between the two nations would be further enhanced and joint efforts would be undertaken to pursue common objectives.
Both sides expressed willingness to facilitate the exchange of high-level parliamentary delegations in the future.
