Pakistan Rejects Indian Propaganda on Gaza Troops, Clarifies Passport Clause Intact

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday dismissed as false and politically motivated a report by Indian outlet Republic TV, which claimed Islamabad was preparing to send 20,000 troops to Gaza and had removed the “Not valid for Israel” clause from Pakistani passports.

In an official statement, the ministry said the allegations were “unverified and sensationalised claims” intended to mislead audiences. The report, it added, falsely asserted that Pakistan’s troops would be deployed to Gaza “under the supervision of Western countries and Israel.”

Calling the claims “ridiculous,” the ministry stressed that Pakistan’s stance on Israel remains unchanged. It cited a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirming that Islamabad does not recognise Israel and has no military cooperation or engagement with it, nor is any such arrangement under discussion.

The ministry also clarified that the passport clause remains intact. “The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports confirms that it still reads: ‘Valid for all countries except Israel,’” the statement said.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position on Palestine, the ministry noted that Islamabad steadfastly supports the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital.

“The claim originates solely from Republic TV, a channel known for anti-Pakistan propaganda and sensationalism,” the ministry said. “No credible regional or international media outlet has reported any such assertion.”

The Information Ministry urged the public and media outlets to rely on official government statements and verified policy updates rather than “politically charged or partisan misinformation.”
