Islamabad, 21 Febryary 2023 (TDI): Mark Rutte, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, spoke on the phone with Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The Dutch government’s humanitarian aid to Pakistani flood victims was appreciated by the prime minister, as was the assistance of Dutch water experts in developing Pakistan’s framework for resilience, recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction.

Both leaders also concurred to keep working together on climate change-related issues. They reviewed their bilateral relations and expressed pleasure at their development. They decided to improve their trade and economic ties even more.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited Dutch businesses to invest in horticulture, water management, agriculture, and renewable energy.

The two leaders also discussed important global and regional issues of shared interest, including the situation in IIOJK, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, emphasised the importance of the international community speaking out against Islamophobia & uniting to advance interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence, which call for mutual respect and religious tolerance.

The establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the Netherlands is 75 years old this year. The two Prime Ministers decided to commemorate this achievement properly.
