
Canakkale, 1 November 2021 (TDI): Pakistan navy participates in the 8th multinational special operations exercise ‘NUSRET 2021’ at Canakkale in Turkey. 12 countries are participating in these countermeasures drills. This special exercise started on October 18 and will continue till 26th November.

Teams from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Iraq, Libya, Oman, South Korea, Romania, and Tanzania are participating in this special exercise. Representatives from NATO Mine Counter Measure (MCM) Group and NATO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation have also participated.
The exercise aims to equip the teams with a professional approach in order to combat common threats effectively. This exercise has aimed to make the participating countries indulge in cooperation, synergy, and interoperability. The exercise was directed to test and validate concepts, procedures, systems, and tactics used in the Special Operations Forces.
Multilateral participation led to the exchange of professional expertise in the Special Operation Forces (SOF). The special exercise also involved Special Operations Forces in operations like Underwater EOD and Mines Counter Measures in the maritime domain. This exercise also featured PN Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) team. Collaboration of the teams will inevitably strengthen bilateral and multilateral military relationships among the 12 countries.
