Pakistan Navy in a joint exercise with Egyptian Navy

Berenice, 28 October 2021 (TDI): Pakistan Navy Ship, Alamgir visited the Egyptian port of Berenice today. The port of Berenice is a deep seaport located in the Red Sea. Pakistan Navy Ship, Alamgir participated in a joint exercise of the Pakistan and Egyptian Navy.

This Joint exercise facilitated the officers of the two navies to discuss matters of mutual interest. The two navies deliberated on bilateral maritime cooperation. Officials of the Egyptian Navy and Pakistani Council welcomed the Pakistan Navy Ship, Alamgir. The Southern Fleet Commander of the Egyptian Navy also visited the Pakistani Ship.

In the retrospect, Pakistan Navy Ship, Alamgir also participated in a joint exercise with the Navy of Japan. Japanese ship Yugiri and Pakistan Navy Ship, Alamgir indulged in bilateral naval drills. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) contributed to the facilitation of the two-way joint exercise.

Pakistan Navy Ship, Alamgir also contributed to the cause of anti-piracy operation “Meri Labrum” under the mission of Combined Task Force 151. Combined Task Force 151 is a multinational naval task force, established in 2009. The purpose of establishing the Combined Task Force 151 is to disrupt piracy and armed robbery at the sea. Its mission also involves building multilateral capacity to protect maritime commerce and secure freedom of Navigation. Pakistan Navy Ship Alamgir (F260) was transferred to Pakistan by the US in 2010. Pakistan Ship Alamgir has successfully completed Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Coalition Maritime Campaign Plan (CMCP) deployment.
