Islamabad, 15 November 2023 (TDI): In a video link meeting, the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, engaged in a comprehensive dialogue with Malaysian Senate President Tan Sri Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar.

The discussions delved into the regional landscape, with a particular emphasis on the urgent and critical Palestine issue, as well as shared areas of interest.

Chairman Senate’s leadership in the Upper House’s effective advocacy for the Palestine cause on the world stage drew commendation from Tan Sri Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, highlighting the special session convened by Chairman Senate to address the escalating situation in Palestine, leading to the unanimous passing of a resolution condemning Israeli cruelty and human rights violations.

The the President of Malaysian Senate expressed appreciation for the robust condemnation of Israeli actions during the Senate session, emphasizing that the parliaments around the world should follow Pakistan’s lead in raising their voices against such violations.

The leaders conveyed their deep concern for the escalating humanitarian crisis in Palestine, agreeing on the imperative need for joint global efforts. He also informed me about an upcoming session of the Malaysian Senate on the analogy of the Senate of Pakistan to comprehensively address the issue.

Beyond diplomatic discussions, both countries committed to fostering stronger relations, promoting trade and investment, and jointly advocating for Palestine and Kashmir at prominent international forums.

Chairman Senate’s invitation to the President of the Senate of Malaysia to visit Pakistan was warmly received, further underscoring the commitment to enhancing bilateral ties.

Both sides condemned Israeli actions, branding them as blatant violations of international laws and norms. Chairman Senate called for a united international front against these “heinous and barbaric atrocities” and urged the immediate opening of safe corridors for delivering essential supplies to Gaza citizens.

The Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani expressed optimism about the continued strengthening of relations between Pakistan and Malaysia.
