Sharm El-Sheikh, 8 November 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif met with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday.
The meeting took place on the fringe of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP27. It was held in Egypt where Shehbaz Sharif is attending COP27 along with his delegation.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan also participated in the Middle East Green Initiative summit conducted by Saudi Arabia under the chairmanship of Muhammad Bin Salman.

He mentioned the prospect of strengthening the relationship between both countries. In this regard, he said that “I am looking forward to the upcoming visit of the Saudi Crown Prince to Pakistan.
I am confident this visit will promote bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.” It is to be noted here that the Crown Prince of the Kingdom is expected to visit Pakistan on the 21st of November this year.
Both sides also discussed the aspect of enhancing the partnership and mutual support in the fields of investment, energy, and trade. They discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Shehbaz Sharif enunciated that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a unique bond over common faith, culture, values, and an eternal tradition of mutual support while appreciating the deep-rooted ties between both countries.
While acknowledging the support of Saudi Arabia, he appreciated the hospitality of the Kingdom for the 2 million Pakistanis working in the country.

He mentioned the financial assistance provided by the Kingdom to the 2022 Flood victims of Pakistan while declaring the country most affected by the causalities of climate change.
The Prime Minister also recognized the efforts of Muhammad Bin Salman in organizing the Middle East Green Initiative and assured his full support for this environment-friendly cause.
It is noteworthy that Shehbaz Sharif visited Saudi Arabia in October to attend the Saudi Future Investment Initiative Summit and held consultations with Muhammad Bin Salman.
