Islamabad, 26 January 2023 (TDI): Syed Naveed Qamar, the Federal Minister for commerce, and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Kistafin agreed to sign the transit trade agreement between Kazakhstan and Pakistan in principle.
This was agreed upon during their meeting. The two talked about possible avenues for trade and collaboration between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, including the signing of a number of transit trade agreements.
The Minister stated that the government is eager to further develop close economic and trade ties between the two nations and expressed confidence in the two sides’ ability to swiftly reach agreements.
Syed Naveed Qamar noted that Pakistan will host the Joint Working Group on Trade’s subsequent meeting in the coming months to discuss issues pertaining to bilateral trade and take action to further economic integration.
The MoU between TDAP & BOI from Pakistan and KAZAKH INVEST & QazTrade from Kazakhstan, signed on December 23, 2022, will further improve Trade and Investment activities between the two sides, the Minister said.

While on his part. the Ambassador of Kazakhstan thanked the Minister for his assistance and expressed hope that the agreements would soon be concluded.
In addition to this agreement, the Ambassador expressed a strong interest in Pakistani furniture, sports goods, and travel.
He was then invited by Syed Naveed Qamar to attend the 18th OIC Member States Trade Fair, which will be held in Lahore from June 16–18, 2023, with the theme of women’s entrepreneurship.
Additionally, he invited the government of Kazakhstan to set up a “Special Pavilion” at the OIC Trade Fair.
