Islamabad (TDI): The outgoing High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Ambassador Muhammad Ruhul Alam Siddique, paid a farewell call on the Prime Minister of Pakistan, on Tuesday.
The High Commissioner is returning to Bangladesh, on completion of his four-year tenure in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the remarkable contributions made by the High Commissioner for promotion of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations.
He stressed that Pakistan greatly valued its relations with Bangladesh, which were rooted in shared history, common faith and cultural similarities.
While conveying his warm wishes to Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Prime Minister remarked that the existing goodwill between Pakistan and Bangladesh needed to be translated into tangible cooperation.

He wished the High Commissioner success in his future endeavors.
The High Commissioner thanked the Prime Minister for the facilitation, courtesies and privileges extended to him during his stay in Pakistan.
Pakistan and Bangladesh
Pakistan and Bangladesh has recently agreed to improve their bilateral relations in all fields including trade, defence production and signing of Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT), according to media reports. It was reportedly decided that the Pakistan -Bangladesh JEC would utilized for improving ties between the two countries.

Citing unidentified sources, a media report said that the High Commissioner of Pakistan recently held meeting with advisor of commerce and secretary commerce.
The Bangladesh side is currently working on firm dates, agenda for the JEC to be held in Dhaka in late December, early January, the report added.
High Commissioner of Pakistan to Dhaka has reportedly revealed that the current Government in Bangladesh holds significant goodwill for Pakistan.
Parties across the spectrum are very positive towards Pakistan. Therefore, the necessity to hold the JEC at the earliest is desired.
Bangladesh is eager to develop ties with Pakistan on ministerial level as well.
