Pakistan evacuated 7,629 people from Afghanistan

Islamabad, 27 August 2021 (TDI): Approximately 7,629 people have been evacuated from Kabul, Afghanistan since 15 August, 2021.

Pakistan has been keenly observing the crisis in Afghanistan. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been operating since Taliban takeover and is evacuating citizens as well staff from Afghanistan. The people evacuated are not only Pakistanis but also include citizens as well as diplomatic staff of international institutions and member states.

According to reports, Pakistan is assisting the evacuation of people through both land and air routes. Earlier, 1,051 people were allowed to enter Pakistani soil through Torkham Border and the rest were brought to the state through PIA operations. Pakistan is the only state that is providing assistance to various other states in these tough times.
