Beijing, 13 August 2022 (TDI): To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence, the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing arranged a Food and Cultural Festival at the cutting-edge Silk Road Art and Cultural Centre in Langfang.

The Cultural Centre is located one hour outside of Beijing. The two-day event aims to highlight the rich history, breathtaking scenery, cultural legacy, goods, arts & crafts, literature, as well as traditional cuisine of Pakistan.

Over 300 people, including Chinese dignitaries, government representatives, business executives, Ambassadors, and members of the media, along with members of the Pakistani community, attended the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Moin ul Haque, the Ambassador of Pakistan to China said that Pakistan’s 75th anniversary of independence was a historic turning point for the country.

He stated that Pakistan is now the fifth-largest in the world with 220 million talented, hardworking, and entrepreneurial citizens.

Moreover, he highlighted Pakistan’s benefits as an investment and travel destination and urged Chinese visitors to visit Pakistan in 2023, which will be recognized as the Year of Tourism Exchanges.

The Ambassador also spoke extensively about the deep and enduring affinity as well as an iron brotherhood that exists between China and Pakistan.

He underscored that holding such festivals will encourage cultural exchanges and people-to-people contact between the two nations.

The festival will feature a variety of events, such as cultural performances, a showcase of Pakistani goods and handicrafts, a photo exhibition, kid-friendly games, and delectable Pakistani cuisine.

In addition, on this occasion, a special children’s art project to create a sizable painting reflecting the friendship between Pakistan and China was held.

Lahore Fort and Lake Saif-ul Malook were also available for virtual excursions at a booth for virtual reality. The Festival is also screening two well-known films, “Parvez hai Junoon” and the animated film “Allahyar and the Legends of Markhor.”
