Islamabad, 8 December 2022 (TDI): Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Nong Rong called on Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Ishaq Dar in Finance Division, Islamabad on 6 December.

Finance Divison, Government of Pakistan released a statement about the engagement of Senator Ishaq Dar and Ambassador Nong Rong.

The Finance Minister welcomed the Chinese Ambassador and the two sides exchanged views on amplifying and strengthening bilateral relations in the economic and financial sectors between both neighboring countries.

The Finance Minister expressed grief on the sad demise of the former President of China, Jiang Zemin, and said that he was a great friend of Pakistan and its a loss for both countries.

Senator Ishaq Dar highlighted the long-standing and deep-rooted relationship between China and Pakistan and discussed a number of strong bilateral ties in a number of economic avenues.

Moreover, Minister underlined the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation programs undertaken by the current government.

He also stated that the Government of Pakistan has a realistic plan for dealing with any upcoming expenditures regarding reconstruction and rehabilitation programs in flood-affected areas.

The Finance Minister expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for supporting Pakistan in hard times. He assured the Ambassador that Pakistan’s government is taking various measures to protect the vulnerable segments of society.

Besides that, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar notified the Chinese Ambassador that Pakistan is committed to completing the IMF program while meeting all external debt repayments on time.

Chinese Ambassador’s remarks

While the Ambassador of China to Pakistan, Nong Rong appreciated the government of Pakistan’s policy initiative for sustaining and boosting fiscal and monetary stability.

Other than that, he shared goodwill gestures and assured the continued support of china to Pakistan. He further appraised Senator that the government of China stands with the people of Pakistan and is willing to provide every possible assistance.

To conclude the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar thanked Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong for their continued support and assistance for the development of the people of Pakistan.
