The federal minister opined that Pakistan and Belarus share a cordial history of bilateral economic, trade, and defense ties.

Matters of mutual interest, particularly cooperation in the field of defense production came under discussion.

The Defence Minister expressed that the high-level visits between the two countries have extensively strengthened bilateral relations. The Minister emphasized the need for further enhancing the levels of cooperation between the two countries.

Previously, on 9 May the Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, emphasized enhancing bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Belarus to fully harness their potential.

Pakistan’s exports to Belarus encompass a variety of goods, including medicaments, optical and medical apparatus, rice, leather articles, textiles, cutlery, footwear, sports requisites, cotton garments, salt, and mangoes.

In contrast, Pakistan imports agricultural tractors, fertilizers, wood pulp, and motor vehicles from Belarus. Minister Jam Kamal Khan underscored Pakistan’s notable status as the fourth-largest dairy producer in the world, suggesting that the country can become a significant exporter in this sector.

Despite a reported total trade volume of $19.05 million, Minister Jam Kamal Khan pointed out that this figure does not reflect the full potential of trade between the two countries.

Additionally, Ambassador Andrei Metelitsa highlighted Belarus’s expertise in manufacturing harvesters and electric vehicle (EV) transports, suggesting deeper cooperation between the two countries in these sectors.

Minister Jam Kamal Khan emphasized the importance of both business-to-business (B2B) meetings and government-to-government (G2G) dialogues to enhance trade volume and strengthen bilateral ties.
