Minsk, 19 May 2023 (TDI): The delegation of Pakistan participated with Minister of Defense Production Muhammad Israr Tareen and the Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus, Sajjad Haider Khan, in the 11th edition of MILEX 2023, the prestigious international exposition of armaments and military equipment in Belarus.
The launch of MILEX 2023 in Minsk is a significant event for the worldwide military sector. It became a crucial forum that united military industry executives, government officials, and specialists. Countries presented the latest technological advances at the exhibition while exploring potential international alliances and collaboration.

The Pakistani defense industry has made substantial strides in recent years. The country representatives’ presence facilitated Pakistan to converse with other countries on new collaborative ventures, technology transfer, and the exchange of expertise.
Minister Tareen emphasized the value of cooperation in the military industry at MILEX 2023. He stated that Pakistan’s participation illustrated Pakistan’s strategic desire to foster its indigenous defense sector while interacting with global peers to exchange information, expertise, and best practices.
Envoy Sajjad Haider Khan underscored Pakistan and Belarus’ shared commitment to strengthen bilateral relations, notably defense and trade cooperation.Â
According to Diplomat Khan, both Pakistan and Belarus recognize the potential of their defense capabilities to support economic growth and innovation because defense technology is becoming increasingly intertwined with various businesses such as engineering, manufacturing, and research and development.

He acknowledged the statements of Belarus’ State Secretary Aleksandr Volfovich, who emphasized the defense industry’s position as a high-tech sector that contributes considerably to the country’s economy. Under the guidance of Ambassador Khan, the Pakistan Embassy in Belarus has been actively striving to strengthen diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Belarus. The embassy bridges the two countries, facilitating trade, investment, and collaboration.
