What is North Bund?

The North Bund is a waterfront area and a protected historical district in central Shanghai. It covers about 4 square kilometers within the confines of Henan Road, Huangpu River, and Suzhou Creek.

The history of the North Bund dates back to the late 19th century during the era of the British East India Company. It possesses several other distinctions.

China’s first group of students to study abroad set sail from there. Foreign celebrities, such as Albert Einstein, Charlie Chaplin, and Bernard Shaw, first set foot on Chinese soil at the port.

It is pertinent to mention here that smart technologies are expected to be widely implemented in the area, which is being developed into a hub for the use of 5G technologies.
