Islamabad, 19 May 2023 (TDI): The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, met with the esteemed Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations.

The President and Ambassador Al Thani had a cordial meeting, recognizing Pakistan and Qatar’s historical links and similar principles. The leaders stressed the significance of expanding partnerships across all sectors to realize the two countries’ enormous potential.

During the discussions, President Alvi commended Qatar for its unwavering support and friendship towards Pakistan. He emphasized the value of increasing economic cooperation, notably in trade, investment, and energy.

The President of Pakistan underlined his country’s commitment to creating a tempting investment climate for multinational firms and advocated for deeper economic ties.

Diplomat Al Thani echoed President Alvi’s sentiments. He underscored Qatar’s eagerness to strengthen bilateral ties and seek new avenues of cooperation. He expressed his country’s admiration for Pakistan’s achievements in different spheres, particularly its perseverance and tenacity in the face of hardship.

The Envoy recognized Pakistan’s strategic location and potential as a regional gateway. Both officials also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the significance of close collaboration and association.
