Brussels, 13 June 2023 (TDI): Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, engaged in a productive meeting with Belgium’s Secretary of State, Nicole De Moor, responsible for Asylum and Migration, yesterday mentioned the Ministry of Foriegn Affairs.

The purpose of this significant meeting was to delve into discussions regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on labor partnerships between Pakistan and Belgium.

During the meeting, both officials exchanged views on creating opportunities for Pakistani labor in Belgium, which will help boost the economies of both countries.

Pakistan is facing economic tensions that have ultimately affected the job market, and unemployment is rising day by day at this moment. Exporting labor to countries facing labor shortages will be of mutual benefit and provide a win-win situation for both countries.

This meeting will help foster the relationship between Pakistan and Belgium and open doors for the future. Exporting labor will not only help Pakistan reduce unemployment and improve its economy, but it will also provide Belgium with a skilled workforce.

This MoU will create new opportunities for Pakistani workers and strengthen the bond between Pakistan and Belgium. It is a positive step towards achieving economic growth and stability for both countries.

Moreover, the labor exchange will also provide an opportunity to enhance people-to-people contact and public diplomacy. This cultural exchange will help to build a better understanding between the two states and foster greater cooperation in various fields.

It is important to note that both countries already have strong military ties, and these ties were reaffirmed last year in February when Pakistan and Belgium agreed to further enhance military relations, especially in defense production, training, and intelligence sharing.

This meeting was a positive step towards paving new ways of cooperation between Pakistan and Belgium. The MoU on labor exchange is a promising development that could bring about mutual benefits and strengthen the bond between the two countries.
