Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan has rejected and condemned Israel’s actions in the West Bank, calling it an expansion of illegal settlements; a move that is being criticized worldwide.
In addition to joint statements from the platforms of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and Arab and Islamic Groups at the United Nations, Pakistan’s Foreign Office issued a separate statement to protest Israeli government’s green signal to a proposal that will allow registering West Bank’s land as “state property.”
Since Israel occupied West Bank in 1967, UN resolutions and international pressure has blocked any moves to annex West Bank. The annexation is believed to undermine any long term resolution based on two-state solution.
“The occupying power’s continued disregard for the international law and its provocative actions undermine the prospects for a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region,” Pakistan’s statement read.

“Pakistan reaffirms full support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and for the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital,” it further said.
These intensified policy measures from Israel come at a time when a Board of Peace meeting is scheduled to take place in Washington on February 19, 2026.
What started off as a plan to stop Israeli attacks in Gaza and to reconstruct the territory has quickly transformed into a controversial project where countries have to pay to become permanent members.
Though Trump has voiced his opposition to Israeli measures in the West Bank over the past few days, it remains uncertain if the Board of Peace meeting will bring any substantial outcome to stop Israel from annexing the West Bank.
Pakistan’s statement noted that Israel’s actions are a “violation of international law” as well as of the many resolutions adopted by the UNSC and the General Assembly.
