Pakistani Missions Worldwide Observed 23rd March with Simple Flag-Hoisting Ceremonies

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistani diplomatic missions worldwide observed the 86th Pakistan Day on Monday, through simple and dignified flag-hoisting ceremonies in line with government austerity guidelines.

Missions in Beijing, Paris, Doha, Tokyo, Washington and other capitals held modest events attended by Pakistani communities and local dignitaries. Messages from the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister were read out, highlighting national unity, resilience and commitment to peace.

In Beijing, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi led the flag-hoisting ceremony, marking the occasion alongside the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.

In his address, Ambassador Hashmi extended heartfelt felicitations to the Pakistani community in China and underscored the continuing significance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s three cardinal principles Unity, Faith and Discipline  as the fundamental pillars for Pakistan’s national development and security agenda.

He also highlighted the special salience of 2026 as a milestone year for celebrating 75 years of mutual progress in Pakistan-China relations.

In Washington, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem after a recitation from the Holy Quran.

In his remarks, Ambassador Sheikh described Pakistan’s journey as one of “resolve of the genesis translated into resilience in national life,” while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, stability, diplomacy and counterterrorism.

In Paris, a simple ceremony was held at the Embassy with a large number of Pakistani diaspora members in attendance. Similar events took place in Doha, Abu Dhabi, Madrid and New York, reaffirming strong bilateral ties with host countries.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels commemorated Pakistan Day with a solemn flag-hoisting ceremony. Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi raised the national flag, honoring the vision of the nation’s founders and the sacrifices made by its martyrs.

Pakistan Day commemorates the historic 1940 Lahore Resolution. This year’s observances focused on simplicity while underscoring Pakistan’s dedication to national progress and peaceful bilateral relations. The diplomatic activities were held as part of Pakistan Day observances worldwide.

The ceremonies and outreach efforts underscore Pakistan’s focus on fostering diplomatic ties and contributing to regional and global stability amid evolving challenges.
