Pak Ministry of Energy and GIZ launch watershed program

Lahore, 3 August 2021 (TDI): The Ministry of Energy of Pakistan (MoE) and GIZ Pakistan have signed a EUR 4 million watershed program called “Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Concepts in Cities and Industry”. The REEE-SCALE project would be implemented and overlooked by GIZ Pakistan with the assistance of the MoE Power Division and National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA).
 
Ali Raza Bhutt, the Secretary Ministry of Energy of Power Division, and  Mr. Tobias Becker, the GIZ Pakistan Country Director, cemented the program agreement. The program is to span 3.5 years in the technical projects by Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to bring efficiency and well functioning municipal management in Pakistani districts.
 
The agreement also contributes to the UN SDG 7, 11, and 13 and reflects the friendly and goal-oriented relationship between the two countries.
