Islamabad (TDI): In a significant diplomatic effort, Pakistan has officially invited the Republic of Rwanda to participate in the first-ever Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) in Islamabad on November 11 to 12, 2025.Â
The invitation was personally extended by Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, in a meeting with the Rwandan Ambassador in Islamabad. She was accompanied by Senior Director General Protocol Tariq Bin Waheed.
During the meeting, Misbah Khar highlighted Rwanda’s significant role in the global parliamentary sphere and expressed her hope for the country’s active engagement in the coming event.

She also talked about the ISC’s vision of forging long-term partnerships and fostering democratic debate in various regions. The ISC conference will likely bring together Speakers and Presiding Officers of Parliaments across the globe, and offer a special platform to exchange views on collective action to meet common challenges.Â
Pakistan hopes to enhance dialogue-based cooperation and strengthen its parliamentary diplomacy to be more effective in global governance.Â
Pakistan and Rwanda share bilateral relations based on respect for each other, shared development ambitions, and a growing web of personal contacts.
The two countries have shown interest in expanding their cooperation in trade, education, agriculture, and capacity building, especially in the framework of South-South cooperation agreements.Â

Secondly, Rwanda’s membership in the ISC can further consolidate these relations and provide new avenues for cooperation in parliamentary affairs and diplomatic relations.
International Sustainable Conference (ISC) is a new inter-governmental and inter-parliamentary forum with the aim of promoting high-level discussion and collaboration among the world’s parliamentary leaders.
