Pakistan, Hungary Eye Major Boost in Bilateral Trade and Joint Ventures

Islamabad (TDI): Hungarian Ambassador to Pakistan, Zoltán Varga-Haszonits, met with Atif Ikram Sheikh, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), to explore bilateral trade, investment, and industrial collaboration.

The meeting, held at FPCCI’s headquarters, brought together key business leaders including FPCCI Vice Presidents Tariq Jadoon and Muhammad Raziq.

Discussions centered on practical measures to enhance the current trade volume between Pakistan and Hungary and to facilitate greater engagement between the private sectors of both countries.

At the heart of the talks was a shared commitment to accelerate joint ventures and organize business-to-business (B2B) engagements aimed at unlocking untapped economic potential.

Both sides agreed that exchanging trade delegations and holding joint business forums could provide fresh momentum to bilateral commercial relations.

President FPCCI underscored Pakistan’s readiness to expand cooperation in key growth sectors, including agricultural technology, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and information technology.

Highlighting Pakistan’s investor-friendly climate, he emphasized the availability of a “One-Window” facility designed to streamline procedures for foreign investors.

He extended a special invitation to Hungarian companies to explore opportunities in energy, infrastructure development, and auto parts manufacturing.

Referring to Pakistan’s expanding industrial hubs, Sheikh noted that the country offers vast potential for long-term partnerships and profitable investments. He stressed the need for “effective and practical steps” to translate diplomatic goodwill into tangible economic outcomes.

Ambassador Varga-Haszonits reaffirmed Hungary’s strong interest in strengthening economic engagement with Pakistan.

He pointed out that Hungarian companies bring specialized expertise in modern agricultural machinery, water management solutions, and healthcare technology; sectors that align closely with Pakistan’s development priorities.

The ambassador assured full support in facilitating investment flows and enhancing business connectivity between the two nations.

He expressed confidence that Pakistan-Hungary economic relations are poised to enter a new phase of growth, driven by targeted cooperation and private-sector collaboration.
