Beijing, (TDI): Pakistan’s Consul General in Shanghai, Shehzad Ahmad Khan, lauded China’s remarkable socio-economic transformation over the past 75 years, attributing its success to exceptional leadership and a long-term vision that has steadily propelled the nation to global prominence.

In an interview with a Chinese media outlet, marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Consul General emphasized how China’s growth trajectory serves as a model for developing countries.

He noted that the country’s historic leap from low-speed growth to high-quality development has lifted hundreds of millions out of poverty and established it as a leader in various sectors, including technology and infrastructure.

Shehzad highlighted China’s advancements in artificial intelligence, 5G technology, and renewable energy, as well as its extensive high-speed rail network, which spans over 46,000 kilometers.

“The country’s vibrant tech industry, represented by giants like Alibaba and Huawei, has fostered significant collaborations with Pakistan,” he stated.

China’s Global Initiatives Praised

He praised China’s global initiatives, such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as prime examples of how the nation shares its prosperity and development with other countries.

“CPEC is a testament to our strategic partnership, showcasing the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation,” he added.

Recalling Pakistan’s historic support for China, Shehzad underscored the long-standing bilateral relationship, which began when Pakistan became one of the first countries to recognize the People’s Republic in 1949 and the pioneering Islamic nation to establish diplomatic ties in 1951.

This early diplomatic gesture, he noted, laid the groundwork for the enduring partnership that continues to thrive.
