Manama (TDI): Pakistan’s national senior men’s volleyball team booked their place in the quarterfinals of the AVC Nations Cup 2025 after a dramatic 3-2 win against Chinese Taipei on Thursday in Manama, Bahrain.
The Pool C match was one of the most intense contests of the tournament so far. Pakistan had a good start and won the first two sets 25-20 and 25-22.
However, Chinese Taipei bounced back and they took the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-16. Both teams came to a tie at 2-2, the match moved into a decisive fifth set.
In a competitive final set, Pakistan held the pressure pretty well and won the set 18-16, sealing a 3-2 victory. This win ensured the spot of Pakistan in the quarterfinals and puts Pakistan at the top of Pool C.
The key performances of this match came from Murad Khan, who was the lead attacker, while Murad Jehan really stood out too for his strong defense, especially in the last set.

Musawer Khan is also worth mentioning for his support through back to back attacks and serves in the match. Usman Faryad Ali played his role well in blocking and net defense, while Fahad Raza was the one managing court coordination.
With this win, Pakistan will now be face the second-ranked team from Pool A in the quarterfinals. That opponent will be determined after the Bahrain vs. Indonesia match. The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) will confirm the quarterfinal schedule once final pool standings are in.
PVF Chairman Ch. Muhammad Yaqoob praised the team’s performance, calling it a proud moment for Pakistan. “This was a historic win. The team showed tremendous fighting spirit and composure under pressure,” he said following the match.
The AVC Nations Cup 2025 is being hosted in Bahrain and features top teams from across Asia. Pakistan’s victory over Chinese Taipei has positioned them as strong contenders going into the knockout stage.
