Beijing, (TDI): The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing hosted a Business and Investment Roundtable, bringing together over three dozen Chinese companies to explore opportunities for enhanced economic collaboration between the two countries.

The roundtable, chaired by Minister for Board of Investment Abdul Aleem Khan, aimed to present Pakistan as a prime destination for investment, particularly in sectors such as technology, infrastructure, logistics, construction, energy, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.

In his opening remarks, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, emphasized the growing momentum of business-to-business exchanges between Pakistani and Chinese entrepreneurs.

He highlighted successful B2B meetings held in cities like Shenzhen, Beijing, Karachi, and Xi’an, as well as participation in various fairs, expos, and conferences.

Iron-Clad Friendship

Minister Abdul Aleem Khan lauded the “iron-clad” friendship between Pakistan and China, noting that significant progress had been made in boosting bilateral business and investment ties following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China in June 2024.

He underscored the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as the foundation of bilateral economic cooperation and highlighted the next phase’s focus on industrialization, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Export Processing Zones (EPZs), and the Gwadar Free Zone.
