Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iranian Counterparts discuss bilateral ties

Muscat, 30 September 2021 (TDI): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Diplomatic Affairs of Oman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al-Harthy met with his Iranian counterpart, Sayed Kazem Sajadi at the General Court of the Ministry.

The issues discussed during the meeting encompassed bilateral relations between the two allies. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Consular and Parliamentary Affairs and Iranian Nationals underscored the need to strengthen the ties between the two via cooperation for joint benefit. Furthermore, the agenda also involved deliberation on the facilitation of commercial and consular collaboration between the Omani Sultanate and Iran.

Aside from sharing the region and religion, Oman and Iran share diplomatic and economic relations which trace back to the Pahlavi period. Several officials from both the friendly partners’ foreign ministries, also attended the meeting.
