Muscat, 25 November 2021 (TDI): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman organized the program of honorary consuls to friendly countries. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, attended on Wednesday, 24 November 2021. Turkey, Germany, the Czech Republic, Finland, Lithuania, and Uganda were involved in the program. For his part, the Ambassador, Khalid bin Hashel Al-Maslihi, Head of the Minister’s Office Department, and several Omani officials attended the meeting.

The Honorary Consul is a network of diplomatic missions consisting of ministers, embassies, and liaison officers. The Honorary consul leads the Honorary Consulate. In that sense, the objective of the honorary platform is to address diplomacy-related tasks in different countries.

Bilateral relations between countries

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the bilateral relations and cooperation between the countries. Hence, the discussion concerned the investment opportunities. The Foreign Ministers invited representatives to show their involvement with Oman’s economic trends with future 2040 and the promising chances. In addition, the Ministers visited Expo 2020 in the United Arab Emirates and attended the “Invest in Oman Forum” organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Investment Promotion at Expo Dubai.

Moreover, the relations between Turkey and Oman are captivating and have a mutual benefit from both sides. As well, Oman and Germany have shared a very close friendly bond in order to promote economic improvement in both countries. The countries are relatively focused on the economy and politics. Consequently, they have signed several agreements with each other. However, Germany and Oman have been sharing medical treatment, and many Omanis traveled to Germany for health services. The relations also share the bilateral relations concerning the education system.

The diplomatic events of the Gulf nation come in response to its quest to strengthen ties with European and Arab countries, in search of economic prosperity and common benefit.
