OIC supports World Children Day

-

Jeddah, 22 November 2020 (TDI): In support of World Children’s Day, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) has joined the global community.

The holiday comes as Children face challenging conditions due to the epidemic all around the world.

More than 800 million kids have dropped out of school for many months as a result of lockdowns being implemented globally, according to Human rights wing of OIC.

Given the consideration to poverty and the digital divide between rich and poor nations in addressing the global pandemic, the scenario might result in a persistent education gap.

In order to safeguard children’s best interests, particularly those who have special needs or are refugees, the panel emphasized the necessity for measures and policies that respect children’s rights in the context of pandemic efforts.

All of the member states were asked by the commission to create a complete and comprehensive agenda for children’s rights, ensuring social inclusion, the rule of law, and human development in a way that is consistent with humanitarian efforts.
