SEOUL, (TDI): North Korea said on Saturday that it had found the remains of a South Korean military drone, reported the state media KCNA.
The report said that the drone’s design, its presumed flight period, and a leaflet-scattering box attached to its underside indicated it was likely involved in dispersing leaflets over central Pyongyang, although no definitive conclusion has been reached.
However, South Korea’s government has refrained from confirming the existence of such drones or their deployment, stating that engaging with North Korea’s claims would only play into a potential provocation.
KCNA reported that if it is confirmed that South Korean military assets have violated North Korean airspace, it would be viewed as a severe provocation to North Korean sovereignty, potentially warranting a retaliatory attack.
