Lahore (TDI): Counterterrorism Department Punjab announced on Saturday that they had arrested nine terrorists during 71 Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) carried out in different cities.
According to a CTD spokesperson, these operations took place in Lahore, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Jhelum, and Chakwal.
Among those apprehended were a high-profile terrorist affiliated with Fitna Al-Khawarij from Mianwali and a dangerous Daesh operative from Faisalabad.
The operations resulted in the seizure of explosives, two hand grenades, 26 detonators, 73 feet of safety fuse wire, ammunition, weapons, mobile phones, and cash.

The arrested terrorists have been identified as Abdul Karim, Usman, Imran Siddiqui, Shani, Shaukat, Ahmed Khan, Shiraz Mahmood, Saeed-ur-Rehman, and Mustajab.
The CTD spokesperson noted that these individuals aimed to instill fear and panic among the public through their activities.
Over the past week, the CTD conducted 978 combing operations, arrested 78 suspects, and interrogated 34,694 individuals.

It is pertinent to mention here that the counter terrorism force had arrested 33 suspected terrorists including a key member of the global terrorist group Al-Qaeda in the province in the first week of the current month.
According to CTD officials, among those detained are six suspected terrorists arrested in the provincial capital, Lahore.
