Islamabad, 18 June 2021- (TDI): Niger’s Ministers for Industry and Investment are on their tour to Pakistan. Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Mr. Sohail Mahmood welcomed them to Pakistan. During their discussion in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Secretary highlighted the important steps that the government of Pakistan is taking to promote its engage Africa policy. 
The Foreign Secretary of Pakistan today in a meeting with the ministers committed to expanding the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Niger in all sectors under Pakistan’s “engage Africa” policy. The engage Africa is a policy in which promotion of better relations with the African states is the new agenda for Pakistan.
The Foreign Secretary also acknowledged the efforts that Niger has made to resolve the Kashmir issue. Niger has been very vocal about the Kashmir issue and has consistently backed Kashmiris’ demands at the OIC level.
Niger and Pakistan share friendly ties. Earlier in 2020 The foreign minister of Pakistan Mr. Shah Mahmood Qureshi also met the Prime Minister of Niger during his visit to the region.
