Islamabad, 11 August 2021 (TDI): The Netherlands Ambassador to Pakistan, Wouter Plomp, shares Jinnah’s historic message on National Minorities Day saying “his (Jinnah’s) thoughts about the significance of religious freedom are still relevant today.”

Jinnah, the founding father of Pakistan based the ideological foundations of the state on equality and rights for all sections of the society. His words, “You are free to go to your temples. You are free to go to your mosques or any other places of worship in this State of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion, caste or creed, that has nothing to do with the business of the state,” are the cornerstone for a just society.

The Minority Rights Group International appreciates Pakistan’s observance of this day as it embodies hope for the future regarding the protection of minorities in all spheres of life.
