Islamabad (TD): The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert for the upper regions of the country, forecasting rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall due to an incoming westerly wave.
The NDMA anticipates that the western and northern areas of Pakistan will experience rain, wind, and thunderstorms, with snowfall expected in higher-altitude mountainous regions.
“Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Malakand and Hazara divisions, will likely see rain and thunderstorms, along with snowfall in areas of higher elevation,” the NDMA stated in a release.

Rain and thunderstorms are also forecasted for the Pothohar region and nearby areas.
The NDMA has urged local authorities, emergency services, and the public to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
“Residents in northern and hilly areas are advised to exercise caution while traveling due to the risk of slippery roads and low visibility,” the advisory stated.
