Muhammad Ali Jinnah Hospital In Kabul

-

June 11, 2021 (TDI):  Pakistan has established and built  Muhammad Ali Jinnah Hospital in Kabul. This is part of the series of Pakistan’s support for the development of Afghanistan under its Pakistan Technical Assistance Program. This is public diplomacy initiative by Pakistan to support Afghan people in health care. The cost of the project is 24 million and it took 12 years to complete this state-of-the-art hospital in Kabul. This is one of the three major health care facilities built by Pakistan as part of the contribution to war-torn Afghanistan’s reconstruction efforts.

Apart from these development initiatives, Pakistan takes credit for facilitating ongoing direct communication between the Taliban and the US to aid at the end of Afghanistan’s 18-year-old war. The months-long discussions between the US and the Taliban are the first meaningful engagement between the two rivals, and the US troop withdrawal has raised hopes that the talks may lead to an intra-Afghan peace dialogue, ending years of warfare.
