Ministerial meetings of Jordan and Syria

Amman, 27 September 2021 (TDI): The Jordanian-Syrian ministerial meetings commenced in Amman, today. The theme of the meetings will be a discussion on ways to enhance mutual cooperation. Collaboration in the fields of electricity, transport, agriculture, trade, and water resources will be deliberated upon.

The agenda of the meetings is to rejuvenate the economic cooperation between Jordan and Syria along with the resumption of trade for common interests. Jordan will be represented by the Ministers of Transport, Trade & Supply, Water and Irrigation, Energy and Mineral Resources, Industry as well as Agriculture.

Whereas the Ministers of Foreign Trade, Economy, Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Water Resources and Electricity, will represent the Syrian side.

The diplomatic relations between Jordan and Syria can be termed old and time-worn. The bilateral ties between the two Arab countries have been the most strong.
