Oslo, 26 August 2021 (TDI): On Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Norway released a Twitter statement about the evacuation success of local staff, employees, and their families from Kabul. A plane landed at Oslo airport with the people who had departed from Kabul via Tbilisi. MFA Norway also thanked the efforts and contribution of Georgian authorities for making these efforts and flights successful.
Ole Andreas Lindeman, the Ambassador of Norway to Afghanistan recognized these evacuation efforts as an achievement and asserted that they have succeeded in assisting employees of the Norwegian embassy, their families, and other citizens of Norway and partner countries to flee safely from Kabul. The Norwegian Ambassador further stated that the embassy will close for some time but Norway will remain engaged to continue its evacuation efforts.
