Wellington, 14 November 2021 (TDI): Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Vivian Balakrishnan met with New Zealand’s Foreign Minister, Nanaia Mahuta, yesterday. The two discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

Singapore‘s Foreign Minister was pleased to meet his counterpart to discuss the deepening of the bilateral ties. He shared the development on Twitter.

The two sides discussed ways to expand cooperation to enhance partnership. They also explored the areas of collaboration such as climate change & sustainability.

Minister Balakrishnan noted that New Zealand is the key partner of Singapore. He also expressed that, they have been working well together.

The Minister also stated that the countries have started the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement and CPTPP. This has also attracted the interests of larger countries.

While, New Zealand’s Foreign Minister underscored the issues pertaining to economic resilience, regional integration. The matters related to green recovery and a peaceful Indo-Pacific were also part of the discussion.
