Indonesia and Cambodia established diplomatic ties in 1957. The two ASEAN members maintain embassies in each other’s capital cities; Cambodia has an embassy in Jakarta, whilst Indonesia maintains an embassy in Phnom Penh.
Ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Indonesia has been a strong supporter of stability and peace in Cambodia. Indonesia also supported Cambodia’s membership in ASEAN in 1999. Both partners are also members of the Non-Aligned Movement.
