Kabul, 12 August 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, Mirwais Nab, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, had a meeting with Reid Douglas Sirrs, Ambassador of Canada to Afghanistan.
The Deputy Foreign Minister briefed the Canadian Ambassador on the latest political and security situation in Afghanistan, particularly the Taliban’s increasing attacks and violations of human rights. He praised Canada’s successful partnership with the Afghan government and people over the last two decades.
The Canadian Ambassador reaffirmed that Canada would continue to support the Afghan people by maintaining its diplomatic presence in Afghanistan.
