World Conference on Youth Rights in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, 12 August 2021 (TDI): August 12 is marked as International Youth Day and is celebrated all around the globe. In this regard, the World Conference on Youth Rights has begun in Uzbekistan. The event will continue for 2 days.

The objective of the Youth Forum is to highlight the role of youth in global affairs and movements. Youth comprises a significant portion of the world’s population. The event will incorporate youth and generate ideas to counter complex multidimensional problems of the world under the framework of International Institutions. The forum will also address challenges faced by the youth in the contemporary world. The forum will be conducted in a hybrid format. More than 500 participants will be representing 30 countries in the event.

Uzbekistan government and UN agencies in Uzbekistan are leading the event. Earlier this year, in the 46th session of the UN Human Rights Council, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed the idea to initiate the World Conference on Youth.
