Maldivian State Minister meets Australian Trade Minister


Male, 16 October 2021 (TDI): Maldivian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel, met with the Minister for Trade, Tourism, and Investment of Australia, Dan Tehan.
The State Minister welcomed Dan Tehan and showed gratitude.

Maldivian State Minister and Australian Trade Minister held discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Male and Canberra. They discussed bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, education, environment, and climate change.

State Minister Khaleel expressed appreciation for the multiple contributions made by the Australian Government. He appreciated the key role of the Australian Government in controlling the COVID-19 outbreak within the country. Both State Minister and Australian Trade Minister also reassured commitment towards working closely on furthering collaborations on the multilateral forum.

The meeting was held in a friendly environment. Both parties had a constructive discussion about mutual interest. Male and Canberra stressed the importance of maintaining contacts for further deepening the partnership.
