Male, 8 October 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of Bulgaria, Irena Genadiera Ganchera paid a visit to the High Commissioner of Maldives, Farzana Zahir.
Both the officials had an in-depth discussion on topics of regional and international importance. They had a fruitful session that aimed at finding out ways to enhance cooperation and peace. The Ambassador and the High Commissioner wanted to increase the bilateral ties by improving trade, business, and investments between the two states.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their bilateral partnership through bilateral and multilateral fora in areas of mutual interest.
The Maldivian official also praised Bulgaria’s contribution to the European Union (EU).
She highlighted the EU’s crucial role in resurrecting democracy in the Maldives. She also reaffirmed the Maldives government’s commitment to the relationship in the future.
